Making lures:Top 3 best DIY lures for beginners!

Making lures is an art in itself! At trade fairs and by email we are often asked which lure is most suitable for the beginner to build. And a relevant question, because there is so much possible! I explain in this blog which lure is best to start with.

Artificial bait comes in all shapes and sizes. From mini spinners for bass to large plastic creations for pike… So the question, where to start making your own lure?, is one that is understandable. All beginnings are difficult and it is better to start easy, is our advice in this case!

Number 3: The (In-line) Spinner

Perhaps the oldest lure in the world, and still very hot! The blade rotates on its axis, causing vibrations that trigger the predatory fish. Can be made with one or two spinner blades, with treble hook or single hook. The sky's the limit. Wonderful entry-level lure for those who want to start making lures!

Number 2: The Spinnerbait

My favorite. Can be fished deep and shallow. Hold your rod tip up to fish shallow, and down to fish deeper. Easy to make, but still ranks 2nd in our top 3 lure making list.

With a Spinnerbait the combination of Spinnerblade and Head (see photo) is quite close. For example, you should not put a Spinnerblad Willow #6 on a 14gram head. Then your spinnerbait will move crookedly through the water and the catching power will decrease significantly.

Number 1: The Chatterbait!
