DIY Pelagic Stinger Rig | LUPA Style – In recent years fishing with Shallow RIGS for pike has become very popular. The Company PIKECRAFT has for example launched a beautiful Shallow RIG concept on the market. Shallow rigs can be used for both Softbaits and Hardbaits. THE big advantage of a Shallow Rig is that when drilling a large fish, the lure hangs outside the mouth of the predatory fish in almost all cases, which means that the fish is less likely to come loose. The Pelagic Stinger RIG (LUPA Style 1)

This Pelagic Stinger RIG stands out for its simplicity. Consists of 4 components:

• 1x BKK Assist Spear 21 UVO Treble hook in size 1/0 or 2/0.
• 1x Shallow RIG Double Swivel
• 1x Split ring #5 stainless steel or BKK Split ring 51 #5
• 1x Oval Split Ring or Pikecraft Oval Split Ring

TIP: A Split ring pliers is a useful tool for assembling this RIG yourself.

We recommend the BKK Assist treble hook in this setup because it can also be easily pricked into the softbait in the dark. The double swivel gives just that little bit more rotation during the drill, which is why we prefer this Double Swivel. The components are listed below. The Oval Split Ring is mounted to the lead head. The round one to the assist treble hook. When a bite occurs, the RIG comes loose from the softbait, which keeps your shad intact for much longer and makes it harder for the fish to get rid of the treble hook.

Another solution does not use a BKK Assist Spear 21 UVO treble hook (LUPA Style 2), but uses a regular treble hook and the Quick Release Pin Large of Pikecraft. This also fixes the treble hook and, as with the first option, the three treble hook points remain free. You can optionally fix this Pin in your shad with a drop of superglue.
